What are the THREE most important elements when you book a travel experience? AND When you travel for Polo are you more often a spectator or a competitor?
Adam, the most important thing is that I'm NOT a spectator. 2 - sane horses (not necessarily great horses, just sane works for me). 3 - the people you'll be playing with (they needn't be sane, just great)
Like Bruce, I don't travel anymore unless I play in some shape or form. 1. it has been to be organised well (nothing like your driver being 'on its way' and then showing up 1 hour later.) 2. set expectations correctly (don't promise great horses and then mix a few green ones in the pack or say there will be 2 pros on each team and then have 1 pro for 2 teams turn up because they are all busy and pro is a fairly loosely used term sometimes) 3. have fun and keep smiling (nothing like the organisers blaming the guests for their dissatisfaction)
No club polo-tics at the club!! Fun, affordable, FAIR polo! there is nothing worse than playing at a club where the umpires are all biased towards the clubs "home" team and they always seem to win and then getting an exorbitant bill after the tournament is over with unexpected add on charges!!
