Polo Contacts Worldwide

Hello everybody; if my question irritates you please dont be annoyed, i am asking the question because of what i did learnt from some people when they know that i am interested in polo, they told me that it is not meant for the poors like me.

I was told that i need a horse, and other things ,all are expensive materials , but i am determined to make it ,but to be honest i sincerely discovered that it is not going to be an easy task at all for me .It is a must for me to prove that poverty is a challenge not a failure , a means to success

it sounds like philosophic discussion guys, to be honest, to play Polo is NOT for poor people, everything else is a fairytale, but you don´t have to be rich. cheers to all of you ;-)
Alfonso Ruben Giannico's path to polo is laudable. However, assuming that you are no longer young, and perhaps you work and have other responsibilities, may I offer you another alternative. Perhaps it may not even apply to your location, but it is certainly a possibility in areas where there are polo clubs.
First, locate a polo club and speak to the instructor. Offer to bring a group of new clients to him for a one day or weekend of polo instruction. Make sure that the instructor can provide everything, including ponies. Arrange with the instructor that if you bring a group of 7 paying clients (or whatever number), you will be included in the group at no extra cost. Second, prospect among companies which are willing to sponsor such an event, Certain companies may foot the cost for their own employees as a teamwork training seminar. Perhaps other sports clubs could find enough of their own members to participate in such an event, such as a golf club. Another way is to hook up with a travel agency and have them find your clients. See: http://www.excitations.com/animal_kingdom/?u=ZT0zNCYxNw%3D%3D for an example.
You can also arrange for the food and even find a wine distributor willing to present a wine tasting at the event, at little or no cost.
The point is: you will then be included in the lessons. You could arrange this even while you work at another job. Schedule enough of these and you will be playing on a regular basis and will be a welcome guest of the club, because you are benifitting them..
A polo pro will welcome your business, new clients and potential new members. I can testify to this because I have done it myself.
Remember: “You can get everything you want out of life, if you just help enough other people get what they want.”
well i think alfanso seems to be right never say die work hard from the bottom and show people you have the ability and courage to succeed and most importantly you will find many who will say you will never make to them you must say i will one day and trust me you will

I think that everyone's wonderful, enthusiastic advice, about starting at the bottom etc, is missing the most important point - would you let this bloke groom for you?

Well, if you would, offer him a job taking care of your! ponies.

Then you could start letting him exercise and school them for you - and in no time, he'd be stick&balling them for you - and then hey... you could let him play them.

Personally, I wouldn't offer MYSELF a job as a groom (although I'd welcome the extra cash) - because the groom is the guy who spends the other 23 odd hours/day with the horses and I believe that counts for more than my cameo appearances.
Hi
Polo here in the Hindukush Mountains of Chitral is not just for the rich. Despite being dubbed 'the game of kings', in Chitral, Polo is not an elitist sport, often played in village square by people from all walks of life a village farmer, a policeman. ,a clerk, a shopkeeper to a Mayor it is the local obsession along with music & dancing that culminates on Shandur festival at 12250ft ( See Events ). In recent years, this festival has become something of a legend - the dramatic landscape, the local colour, the presence of international celebrities but above all the passion with which the game is played by the age-old rivals Chitral and Gilgit, makes the Shandur Polo Festival an unforgettable occasion.
